Darrah was inspired to begin creating her own line of jewelry when flipping through a fashion magazine back in 2001. She got her first temporary strand of beads, some copper wire and some scissors (yikes!!) and gave it a whirl...after the first project was completed, albeit a bit of a mess, Otis B was born.

Directly after, MUCH studying was done into the proper way to create and assemble gemstone jewelry, much reading was done on the many varieties of precious and semi-precious gemstones, and many more projects were tinkered around with, shaped, proudly displayed at craft fairs, open air markets and boutiques...and were sold.

Fast forward to 2008, an Etsy shop was created after Darrah's mother and friends urged her to give it a try, this was an idea that was shaken off a few times but after the babies were born, it seemed like a good idea to try to create some extra income. Briguysgirls (named for Darrah's husband Brian who is called Bri-Guy and their three baby girls) was officially open for business.
The legal and true working name of the company, Otis B, is actually named after someone else...and is a very long story, which we shall spare you from for now...you're welcome.

We decided to created Otis B Kids when we saw that there was a need for some more delicate jewelry for children. Our children are constantly asking for us to make things for them and we oblige! Its great for product testing and they love to look fabulous. It is our goal to provide the same high quality Otis B jewelry but sized and proportional for children for weddings, special occasions and everyday wear.

The road to growing Otis B Jewelry has been a long one, it has not been easy, it has taken an enormous amount of effort, patience and some serious determination, as well as many sleepless nights and work-filled weekends.
